Our Board of Directors and Committee Chairs are your neighbors.
They take time out of their busy lives to help keep Cantamar a great neighborhood.
Here's a little information about each of them.
Say "hi" when you see them around the neighborhood or at Board meetings.

Sissy De Jesus, President
Sissy is the Board's President. She had been informally assisting the Board since its inception in 2006, then joined the Board as Secretary. Sissy has been a Cantamar resident as of April 2006 and she, along with her husband Allen and two sons (Michael and Eric) is extremely happy to be living in this community reminiscent of the close-knit neighborhoods of the '50's. Sissy is originally from Puerto Rico, but she lived 9 years in Pasadena, California prior to moving to Miami. She has been a Miami resident since 1991.

Tom Doherty, Vice President
A result of a job transfer after being at Newark Liberty Airport for 20 years, The Dohertys decided it was time for a change back in 2005 and relocated to South Florida. I am the General Manager for Allied Aviation Fueling Miami Inc. at Miami International Airport. I got involved in the aviation business after serving 6 years in the United States Marine Corp. My wife's name is Gail and we have been married for 25 years. We have one son, Dylan, who is 21 and is currently attending Pharmacy School in Boston. Our daughter Kyllie is 18 and currently remains in NJ. I have always been very active in many different organizations, doing my part to contribute either through a church-based organization or a community-based organization. I have sat on several boards and look forward to being a contributing member to our community and those that make up Cutler Bay.

Gus Hermida, Secretary
After living in Palmetto Bay for 13 years, we decided to buy preconstruction in Cantamar and moved into our house by the lake in early 2006. Maxine, my wife, and I, really enjoy living here, and all the friends we have made at Cantamar. I own an office equipment company called RDSTeam.com that provides copier, printers, and document scanning solutions to small and large companies.
I am originally from Argentina and moved to New York, where I met Maxine, before moving to South Florida. We just celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary and have three children, Melissa, Jason and Amanda. Jason and Amanda lived with us when we first moved in, and now are away at college. Maxine and I enjoy being contributors to the community, and encourage our neighbors to get involved and help make Cantamar the premier community in Cutler Bay.

Meet Your Committee Chairs

Jesse Revilla, Chair, Architectural Control & Grievance Committees (arc@cantamarhoa.org, grievance@cantamarhoa.org)
Born in New Jersey of Cuban heritage, a good part of my upbringing came from NJ with a splash of south Texas (Mc Allen, TX). I attended the University of New Orleans, and finished my studies in NJ. I’ve been a resident of Miami for twenty years. I met and married my wonderful wife Frances here in Miami. We will soon celebrate 19 years married--April 21st, 1990. We have two wonderful children, a son of 15 and a daughter of nine.
As a family, we love the beach, fishing, baseball / softball, riding bikes, watching movies together and road trips. Soon we plan to try camping. Funny, we have the gear, but it is yet to be soiled.
Professionally, I work in the energy industry for a local utility, specializing in (commodities) natural gas futures and some crude, end user based only.

Pam Lucken, Chair, Commmunications Committee (communications@cantamarhoa.org)
Pam has been a Cantamar resident since 2008 when she moved from Kansas to begin working at the University of Miami Law School. She and Mike are enjoying the outdoor activities here and have taken up bicycling and kayaking. They are proud to reside in Cantamar, and they want Cantamar’s reputation as a premier community in Cutler Bay to continue. Pam recognizes the big shoes she has to fill (with Totsie and Brian Walton moving), but she will do her best!
[The Board has agreed to hire the Waltons to continue to maintain the website and send out the emails. Pam will be coordinating all Communications between the Waltons and the Board and other committees. The Waltons will continue to check the webmaster@cantamarhoa.org mail box on a regular basis for items to be added to the website.]
